The Company was
founded in 1909 by Alfred James Tear in Northampton,
England. At that time the Company manufactured straw
palliasses and flock mattresses, followed by the
introduction of the box spring and feather mattress
shortly after.
This continued until the second World War when the
factory was taken over by the Ministry for Aircraft
production for the storage of parachute fabric and
magnesium alloy incendiary flares.
In 1964, the Company was taken over by Glanister
family since that time it has continued to grow
and has more recently specialised in the supply
of bespoke upholstery to the interior design industry. |
